Alan Knight's 2L 16v Calibra

This car was featured on the front cover of the November 1998 Revs magazine (Issue 28). Please be patient, as there are lots of files downloading! We'll this is my car and web site so I am going to take advantage of it.

  ENGINE & TRANSMISSION To the top
  • 1993 Vauxhall 1998cc, 4 cylinder DOHC, 16 valve, injection engine (C20XE).
  • Superchiped.
  • K&N 57i air induction kit removed, resonator box removed, orignal air box back in place with panel filter and pipe feeding cool air from front bumper.
  • Janspeed 4-to-1 Mild Steel Manifold.
  • Custom made Power Flow, twin exit, stainless steel exhaust system fitted, CAT back.
  • BOSCH Super 4 spark plugs.
  • On rolling road, only manged to get 151 BHP at the flywheel (superchip not fitted) :(
    Vauxhall state 150 BHP as standard.

  • Complete exterior respray in original metallic star silver.
  • Prima Racing DTM bodykit, comprising front/rear bumper and side skirts.
  • MC Rallying Evo spoiler with brake light.
  • Regal alloy fuel filler cap.
  • Clear oval side indicators.
  • Vauxhall Vectra door handles, delocked and colour coded.
  • Vauxhall Astra GSi functional bonnet vents fitted.
  • Windows tinted 'light smoke', 37% tint (darkest legally you can go).
  • Bonnet struts.
  • Single wiper conversion.
  • Rear number plate recess panel with no. plate lights.
  • Bumper & Side bump strips smoothed and sprayed gloss black.
  • Silver Type-R window wipers.

  • Calibra Turbo Koni adjustable suspension kit (lowered 30mm all round).
  • Calibra Turbo 5-stud 4x4 hubs.
  • Calibra Turbo trailing arms and shocks.
  • Calibra Turbo 4x4 discs and calipers all round.
  • GM high-temperature pads.
  • 5-stud 7.5 x 17" Kosei RT Penta (et35) with 215/40/17 tyres or 5-stud Stil Auto Multi-spoke 7.5x17" (et35) with 215/40/17 tyres.

  • Standard cloth Calibra upholstery and dash.
  • Custom fitted electric blue carpet.
  • MOMO steering wheel and boss.
  • Lockwood white dial kit.
  • Regal alloy gear knob.
  • Custom made alloy Handbrake lever and adjustable steering wheel column knob.
  • Carbon-fibre clock and heater controls.
  • Alloy pedal covers.
  • Regal harness pads.

  • Kenwood Headunit.
  • Kenwood 6 disc CD changer.
  • Standard front and rear 6 speaker stereo system.

  • Yes, and I'm not telling. But I am putting some NEW stuff in.

    •   FUTURE MODIFICATIONS To the top
  • 2L 16v Turbo with F28 6-speed gearbox (converted 2WD) fitted with LSD transplant.
  • Modified to fit Phase II or Phase III kit.
  • TV headunit with TV tuner.
  • Playstation 2 for games and DVD.
  • Fit better seats, RECAROs, COBRAs etc.
  • Colour code interior in blue highlights.
